GENERAL CONDITIONS (BIKES)

First.- Bicycles may be hired by adults and minors aged 14 or over with parent authorization.
Second.- Bicycles may be hired for days, weeks or months. The minimum rental period is 24 hours. The
rental period will start, in general terms, at the moment of picking-up the bicycle from the hiring company
premises (Castor de la Puerta, S.L., hereinafter referred to as Autos PT). The rental period will end when
the hirer hands the bicycle back at the agreed return point. Any extension of the contract for more than the
agreed rental duration in more than 2 hours must be notified to the hiring company before the end of the
rental period.
Upon termination of the initial rental duration or of the extension, the hirer must return the bicycle at the
place agreed on by the hiring company. Otherwise, the hiring company will be entitled to take the bicycle
back forthwith from wherever it is and the hirer will not be entitled to claim.
The hirer has the right to terminate the contract before its finishes. However, this termination will involve
a 30% fine of the rental fee due in favour of the hiring company.
Should the hirer not be able to return the bicycle because of being unable to transport it due to an ordinary
breakdown, that is, not caused by negligence or misuse, he must notify this fact to the hiring company
forthwith in order for the company to collect it from wherever it is at the time.
Third.- The bicycle is let out in perfect conditions along with all the accessories and minimum
compulsory equipment (helmet, reflecting waistcoat and antitheft system) and must be returned to the
hiring company under these same conditions. The hirer has the option of hiring additional accessories.
The hirer must take care of the bicycle according to its use. Deterioration or robbery of the bicycle due to
misuse or negligence will be the hirer’s responsibility and will result in the termination of the contract and
the relevant financial compensation in favour of the hiring company. The hirer will be responsible for
taking care of the accessories handed out along with the bicycle. In the event of loss, robbery or
impossibility of use of such accessories, the hirer must compensate the hiring company by paying the
following charges:
15 € = helmet
3 € = reflecting waistcoat
6 € = antitheft system
30 € = baby seat
It is forbidden at all times to make any modification to the bicycle unless it is due to a necessary repair in
order to be able to ride it normally.
Fourth.- The hirer commits himself to comply with and fulfil at all times the rules and indications of
circulation and traffic safety and, particularly, those affecting personal safety such as wearing the helmet
and the reflecting waistcoat while riding the bicycle.
Fifth.- The hirer expressly commits himself to pay the hiring company all the charges regarding the fees
shown on the price list on page 1 herein for the handling period of the bicycle as well as any legally
applicable taxes.
Likewise, the hirer will pay for the following:
1. The amount for any missing bicycle accessories, as well as for any accessories which are now
impossible to use or which have been replaced
2. All expenses payable by the hiring company due to transport of the parked bicycle in a different
place as the one established in the contract.
3. The amount for any fines, court and extra court expenses as a result of any kind of penalty,
including towing and municipal storage charges to pick up the bicycle due to acts occurred
during the contract effect.
4. The theft of the bicycle is limited to 225.00 € for adult bicycles and 125.00 for children’s
bicycles.
5. Likewise, any court expenses raised as a result of the breach of any of the obligations established
in this contract by the hirer will be at the hirer’s expense.
Sixth.- Autos PT has a third party insurance covering any damage that may be caused as a consequence
of defects of the rented material.
Seventh.- Autos PT is not liable for claims for any accidents, wounds, bruises or damages caused to the
hirer himself or to third parties or their property, or for any loss of items during the rental period.
